Denison Homestead Museum
The Denison Homestead Museum in Mystics CT is a privately owned property just 5 minutes from downtown Mystic. This 300 year old family farm preserves its history, land and environment. It is home to the 1717 House Museum and Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Pequotsepos Manor is open to the public from June through October, 12pm to 4pm. You can also schedule a private tour year-round.

Essex Steam Train & Riverboat
If you are interested in a unique way to see Connecticut, you should try the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat Mystic CT. This heritage railroad is run on the tracks of the Connecticut Valley Railroad, which was founded in 1868. It began operating between Essex and Deep River in 1971, and later opened other sections of the line. A train can take up to four hours to travel between these two points.
On Sunday, October 21, the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat Myst CT is hosting a sunset cocktail cruise. A cash bar will be served as the passengers dine on hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $5 each and will be sold at the door beginning at 5:00 pm. The cruise departs at 6:30 pm. The boat’s capacity is limited to 125 guests, so purchase tickets early. Proceeds from the bar will benefit Sails Up 4 Cancer.
